Slovenija - World Cup 2010

Since the Motherland is not making an appearance this year in South Africa for the World Cup, I'm going with Slovenija (o.k., Slovenia...) as my sentimental favorite for this year.  My grandmother, who lived to be 99 and was as sharp at that age as she was in her 50's, was born and raised in what is the modern version of Slovenija, so there is a relative connection with my choice for this World Cup.   Slovenija will be playing in Group C, along with England, the U.S., and Algeria.  Only 2 teams form each group advance to the next level and each team within the group plays each other to get to that decisive moment.

How can can you NOT root for a team affectionately described (by ) as ".. a competent team of far-flung grafters well-drilled in the art of attrition."?

So, onward Zmajceki!  First match is v. Algeria on June the 13th.
