Missing.... and Found

Xenoverse, not communicating since March 8th had been presumed lost and resting from the labors of blogging. Well, it turns out that, even though his native Scotland did not make the Football Final Dance, he's been cheering on the mighty Brazilians. Just don't think Yellow is a good match of a pale Scotsman, even one (or two) with red hair.

Wonder what Xeno's take on England is? Can he be coaxed out of his silence to post a few well-crafted (as they always are) spiels on the whole World Cup thing? He's got to have some wiseacre remark on the doings there. Do we have to beg?

Comments:
No. I hate fitba... always the second goalie to get picked. A pox on all their prancin'.

FCB,
You hate football.
You hate jazz.
Well, you do like single malts and choice brews.

Hmm, I'm beginning to think you got kicked out of Europe rahter than coming over in loving desperation.

It was, I must confess, particularly disconcerting to have first learned of this year's World Cup through the medium of US television.

I've had an eight year reprieve from the incessant invokation of "1966" on British [read: English] television. God can only imagine what it must be like this year, with it being in Germany again and England qualified too? First sniff of a Russian referee and the newspapers will go mental.

No surprise at all that Scotland failed to qualify: that's what we do second best. What we do absolutely best of all is qualify for the finals, but then be eliminated in the first round after losing 3-1 to Santa Moravia and Faroe Islands or somesuch, but beating Brazil 2-1 in the last match when we needed to beat them 2-0 to go through.

"FCB cheers Brazil" - you are a crafty devil! I wondered what it would take to smoke out Bearded.

FCB,
Here's what I'm talking about!! Your commentary! The similarities between baseball and (real) football are quite striking.
1) Lots of watching-the-grass-grow moments interrupted by edge-of-the-seat excitement.
2) Talking/writing about the game generally being more riveting and engaging than the game itself.

Point #2 was what I was hoping for from your side of the coast..and you provided a terse bit there. I can't believe that growing up in the mental anguish that is Scottish football that you would not be affected in such a way that sorrow and sarcasm would drip from you like the fine waters of a 15 yr old Single Malt.

Look, WP and I truly enjoy your rips on life in general. Your football related strolls would certainly be enjjoyable.
Please. Indulge us.

Damn you.
Damn you to Hell.

You made me break my fast.
